The History of Psychic Tools Psychic tools have a history going back thousands of years. We attempt to explain the evolution of these "devices" as well as show the connections between each of them. From the "pendulum board" used by Pythagoras through the most recent inventions.
Thomas Alva Edison and the Spirit World Thomas Edison is certainly regarded as one of the great minds of the ages. He has over 3,000 patents to his credit, more than anyone in history. Thomas Edison invented, among thousands of other things, the light bulb, the phonograph and many other "miracles of science" which we take foregranted today. Although this book is from 1882, they have some interesting things to report from entities living on Mars...
The Truth About Automatic Writing Automatic Writing is a powerful ability which most of us have yet to explore. We examine the evidence on hand and attempt to explain this phenomenon as well as potentials which are hardly explored.
Ouija Boards in the Movies... Psychic tools such as the "ouija board" have made their way into the spotlight many times. We reminisce about some of our favorites.
About Automatic Writing:
Automatic writing is said to be a means of contacting other entities and forms of intelligence, by using one's own spiritual energy. It supposedly can take place while one is holding a pencil while either in a trance or wide awake.
The way automatic writing works can be difficult to explain, as it is very similar to the actions of the Quija board. It seems that not many can agree on how automatic writing occurs, if it even has any true basis in the paranormal world.
There are generally three schools of thought on this topic. The first is cynical, by which no matter what evidence is brought forth, it is believed that automatic writing is fake. The second school maintains that automatic writing is merely the supressed subconcious thoughts being allowed to pass through to the concious mind without immediate interpretation. The third school of thought, which is subscribed to by most people that practice automatic writing, is that information is being released through us from outsiders, by a means which is beyond our concious understanding.
Much of the writing that has been brought forth seems to provide excellent proof to the third theory. Many writers have written in languages and scripts that they themselves have never seen or heard. Choice and arrangement of words may often seem unusual, even taking on structures resembling those from Elizabethan times. Pictures and symbols have also been known to be drawn.
Because we cannot say for certain this theory is true, we should not only practice skepticism, but also not rule out the possibilities. In testing automatic writing, if the third school of thought is true, then one is making themselves open and vulnerable to any spiritual agency that wishes to enter. The world is facing trying times, and although we may be tempted to try automatic writing in search for an answer, such spiritual vulnerability is why trying out automatic writing for the inexperienced searcher, or when one is fatigued, emotionally stressed, or spiritually distracted.
